Virtual Reading Buddies!

Saturdays, February 20 & 27, and March 6, 13, 20 & 27, 11-11:30a.m.
Ages 6-10
Kids ages 6-10 are invited to participate in Virtual Reading Buddies, a new program at the library which partners kids who want to sharpen their reading skills with trained teen volunteers. Children and teens will read to each other for a half hour once a week for six weeks using Zoom. All sessions will be monitored by library staff.

Family Cook Night presented by Mighty Writers

Tuesdays, February 2 - May 21, 5:30-6:30p.m.
Families are invited to join Mighty Writers to cook meals that acknowledge and celebrate Black Life. Discussions and writing prompts will be focused on Black Lives Matter (and the pioneers within the movement). From history to present day, participants will celebrate Blackness through cooking, games and more! This virtual program is presented by Mighty Writers and will be led by Mighty Instructor Maurice Williams.

Mindful Family Night presented by Mighty Writers

Mondays, February 1 - March 8, 5:30-6:30p.m.
Parents are extremely important in developing calm and Mighty youth. In this virtual workshop, parents will be supported in developing mindfulness practices for their families. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes, join with an open mind and tune in with the entire family. This program is presented by Mighty Writers and will be led by Mighty Instructor Amy Perez.

Art and Journaling for Tweens presented by Mighty Writers

Calling all doodlers ages 11-13! Missing art class? Looking for a way to express yourself (or de-stress yourself)? Join other middle schoolers as we explore mindfulness through meditation, journaling and simple art. (No talent needed!) This virtual program is

Tweens ages 11-13 are invited to join Ms. Amber and other middle schoolers as we make friends, build community, and learn from each other. You’ll see that for every unique person there’s a mindfulness practice waiting to be discovered. Virtual Boogie Woogie Babies Dance Class for Ages 6 months to 3 years!

Thursdays, 10:30 a.m.
January 7, 14, 21 & 28
Boogie Woogie Babies is a virtual dance class for Baby and Me! The class consists of singing and dancing that encourages socialization and the development of fine motor skills. Boogie Woogie Babies is fun for baby and their big person to learn a few dance moves while burning some calories! The class will be broadcast live on the library's Youth Services Facebook page.

Online Preschool Story Time
Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.
January 12 -  February 23
Join us for an online version of our Preschool Story Time where we’ll share stories, songs, finger plays and movement activities. Story Time videos will premiere on the library's Youth Services Facebook page each Tuesday. Library story times are a fun way to help your child develop skills they will need to be ready to read.
Story Time is geared for ages 3-5 but the whole family is welcome to join from home.
Take and Make Club for Ages 6-12
Weekly, January 11 - February 22
Kids ages 6-12 are invited to visit the library each week to pick up a "Take and Make" craft and S.T.E.M. kit. A different kit will be available at the beginning of each week. The kits will include instruction and supplies, as well as a list of any additional supplies you will need to have on hand.
