Book Discussion Ages 6-8

Online Book Discussion for Ages 6-8undefined

Tuesday, July 21 at 3 p.m.

Children ages 6-8 are invited to join us as we read and discuss the book Unstoppable by Adam Rex.

“If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Well, what if the answer was: ALL OF THEM! When a bird narrowly escapes the clutches of a hungry cat, a nearby crab admires the bird's ability to fly, while the bird admits a longtime yearning for claws. And, just like that, they team up. Pretty soon, the team includes every animal in the forest who's ever wanted someone else's special trait.”

It's preferable if children read the story before the discussion but not required. E-book copies of this title can be checked out using your library card at hoopladigital.com

This program will take place on Zoom. Registration is required. After you register, a Zoom meeting link will be emailed to you.

Book Discussion Ages 9-12

Online Book Discussion for Ages 9-12undefined

Tuesday, July 28 at 3 p.m.

Kids ages 9-12 are invited to join us for a discussion of the graphic novel The New Kid by Jerry Craft.

“Seventh grader Jordan Banks loves nothing more than drawing cartoons about his life. But instead of sending him to the art school of his dreams, his parents enroll him in a prestigious private school known for its academics, where Jordan is one of the few kids of color in his entire grade. Perfect for fans of Raina Telgemeier and Gene Luen Yang, New Kid is a timely, honest graphic novel about starting over at a new school where diversity is low and the struggle to fit in is real, from award-winning author-illustrator Jerry Craft.”

Kids should read the book before the discussion. E-book copies of this title can be checked out using your library card at hoopladigital.com.

This program will take place on Zoom. Registration is required.

After you register, a Zoom meeting link will be emailed to you.
