  • Naturalization Self Test
The naturalization self test is a study tool to help test your knowledge of U.S. history and government. The actual civics test is NOT a multiple choice test. The civics test is an oral test. During the naturalization interview, you will be asked up to 10 questions from the list of 100 questions. This is the online version of the test.
  • Study Materials for the English Test
The English test contains three parts: reading, writing, and speaking. For the reading portion, you must read one out of three sentences correctly. For the writing test, you must write one out of three sentences correctly. Several study tools are available to help you prepare. Certain applicants, due to age and time as a permanent resident, are exempt from the English requirements for naturalization and may take the civics test in the language of their choice. For more information, see exceptions and accommodations.

Books Not to Miss

Cover Art
U.S. immigration made easy - Ilona Bray
U.S. Immigration Made Easy lives up to its title, and is a great book for basic immigration questions. The authors are careful to point out when an attorney's advice should be sought.
Even if someone is going to hire an attorney, reading this book will help clients ask better questions to make sure they're making the best use of an attorney's time.
