Voting by Mail

Vote by Mail (VBM) Ballots will begin being mailed on October 1, 2020

If you have not received your VBM ballot by October 12, 2020, contact the Atlantic County Clerk's office 

RETURNING YOUR MAIL-IN BALLOT

Option 1
Secure Ballot Drop Boxes
Must be placed inside secure drop box no later than 8:00 PM on Election Day.

Option 2
In- Person Polling Location
Ballot must be returned to your assigned polling location between 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Election Day.
(You can only return your personal ballot)

Option 3
At the Board of Elections

How to Vote

Vote In Person:

You may choose to vote in person at your polling place, from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on election day, November 3, and you will be provided a provisional paper ballot. Accommodations will be made for people with disabilities to use an accessible voting device. Remember, you can return your vote-by-mail ballot at your polling place. Go to Vote.NJ.Gov for your polling place, listed on the Find Your Polling Location page.

Vote By Mail:

All active registered voters in New Jersey will automatically receive their ballots in the mail, at the address where the voter is registered.

Then all you have to do is VOTE, SIGN, SEAL, RETURN. How you return it is up to you.

1. Mail: It must be postmarked on or before November 3 and be received by your county’s Board of Elections on or before November 10.

2. Secure Ballot Drop Box: Place your ballot in one of your county’s secure ballot drop boxes by 8:00 p.m. on November 3.

3. Board of Elections Office: Deliver your ballot in person to your county’s Board of Elections Office by 8:00 p.m. on November 3.

4. Polling Place: Bring your ballot to your polling place by 8:00 p.m. on election day, November 3. Remember only you, the voter, can bring your ballot to your polling place on election day.

What If I Haven’t Received My Ballot?

Every active voter registered in New Jersey should receive a ballot in the mail. If it hasn’t arrived by October 12, track your mail-in ballot status online at Vote.NJ.Gov or contact your County Clerk, listed on the County Election Officials page.

Register to Vote with a Print Application:

Request a voter registration form at the Main Library's Help Desk or at the Richmond Avenue Branch Library 

-or-

Print a paper copy of the Atlantic County voter registration form in English / in Spanish

Fill it out and send the completed form to the County Commissioner of Registration or Superintendent of Elections for your county.

Register to Vote Online:

To register to vote online, you will need your date of birth on 1 of the following forms of identification:

A current and valid Driver’s License or a non-driver Identification Card (ID card) issued by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) Your information will be provided to the MVC to validate identification, and to retrieve a copy of your digitized signature.

-or-

A Social Security number. To use your social security number, you must have the ability to sign on-screen or upload your signature to complete the registration process. If you are unable to provide a digital signature, you can not register online. Click here to download the voter registration application for your county.
