LEAP iPad Classes (in-person)

The NJ State Library's Library Equal Access Program (LEAP) provides free classes for individuals with low vision who want to learn about the assistive tools available on iPhones and iPads. Registration priority is given to those who are 55 and older.

Virtual ESL

Beginners English class for non-native, English speakers. Classes include interactive learning activities that focus on increasing the listening, speaking, reading, grammar, and writing skills of the students.

Classes meet using Zoom.  

Class Schedule:

Wednesdays 7 pm - 8:15 pm

Fridays 10 am - 11:15 am

Virtual Qigong

Fridays from 11 am – 12 pm 

Class participants will learn the ancient mind, body, spirit practice of Qigong (pronounced chee-kung). Through easy-to-learn breathing techniques, stretches and gentle flowing movements, participants will learn to keep the Qi (life force energy) flowing, helping to promote relaxation, balance and flexibility. Class is open to adults at all fitness levels. No experience required.

Fresh Start @ Your Library

Fresh Start @ Your Library began as a statewide library reentry program focused on reconnecting returning citizens with their communities at public libraries. The Atlantic City Library has a social worker available to help connect citizens with the resources they need.

Atlantic County Reentry Task Force Meeting

Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.

Dates: November 16

Location: Online

The Task Force is a joint initiative between the Atlantic City Free Public Library and NJ State Parole Board. These meetings provide a forum for stakeholders to come together and share information and resources for the benefit of the justice-involved population. All are welcome to attend. Presented by AtlantiCare, this 7 week English Conversation Group is designed to discuss health and healthy living. Class topics will include:

TIPS Alcohol Server Training

Description:
This is an online training course accessible from the library’s computer lab. A staff member will be available to assist with technical difficulties. 


The On-Premise program is a 5-hour online program designed for servers at restaurants, bars, hotels, in-store tastings, or other establishments where alcohol is consumed on the premises. Employees learn strategies that ensure responsible alcohol service, promote professionalism, and enhance customer service skills.

Resume and Cover Letter Workshop
In this workshop, you will learn to create effective resumes and cover letters that reflect your skills, knowledge, and education relevant to the job you are seeking. Participants will gain practical experience by creating their own resume and cover letter by the end of the workshop.

Microsoft Word Workshop

Learn how to use Word to create and edit simple documents; format documents; add tables and lists; add design elements and layout options; and proof documents. Additionally, students who pass the test at the end of the workshop will receive a certificate of completion.

Microsoft Excel Workshop
This workshop provides all the tools necessary to create and use basic spreadsheets. Participants will receive an overview of the interface and learn the various methods for entering and editing data.
